By downloading, installing, or using Luma Player (the "Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms in their entirety, please do not install or use the Application.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Luma Player. Your continued use of the Application following any updates to these Terms constitutes your unconditional acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Description of the Service
Luma Player is a media player application designed for personal use on Android and Android TV devices. The Application provides:
- Playback of standard video playlist formats sourced and managed entirely by the user
- Support for playlist URLs and connection credentials for user-managed video servers
- A web dashboard at lumaplayer.app for managing playlists and device preferences
- Real-time program guide support for compatible streams
- Local media file playback from on-device storage
Luma Player is strictly a technical playback tool. It does not host, store, distribute, broadcast, or provide any media content, TV channels, movies, or series of any kind.
3. Permitted Use
You may use Luma Player solely for lawful purposes. Permitted uses include:
- Viewing content that is in the public domain or released under open licenses
- Playing your own personal media files stored locally on your device
- Accessing streaming services and content providers for which you hold a valid, active subscription
- Watching free-to-air broadcasts and legally available streams in your region
- Testing self-hosted or privately managed media servers for personal or development purposes
4. Prohibited Use
You agree not to use Luma Player for any of the following purposes:
- Accessing, streaming, or distributing copyrighted content without proper authorization from the rights holder
- Accessing paid TV channels, streaming services, or premium content without a valid subscription from the respective provider
- Any form of media piracy, circumvention of digital rights management (DRM), or unauthorized reproduction
- Sharing, selling, or redistributing Device ID, Device Key, or playlist credentials belonging to another user
- Using the Application in any manner that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations
- Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or tamper with the Application or its underlying code
5. User Responsibility
You are solely and entirely responsible for:
- All content you choose to access, stream, or play through the Application
- Ensuring that your use of any playlist, stream, or content source complies with applicable copyright laws and the terms of the relevant content provider
- Keeping your Device ID and Device Key confidential and secure — do not share these credentials with unauthorized parties
- Any agreements, terms, or obligations you have with third-party playlist or content providers
- Any consequences, legal or otherwise, arising from your use of the Application or of third-party streaming services accessed through it
Luma Player bears no responsibility for how users choose to use the Application, or for the nature, legality, or appropriateness of content accessed through it.
6. Content Disclaimer
Luma Player functions strictly as a technical playback tool. We have no awareness, control, or responsibility over the content accessed through user-configured playlists or third-party servers. Specifically, we are not responsible for:
- The legality of any content streamed or accessed through the Application
- The accuracy, quality, completeness, or availability of any third-party streams or content
- The conduct, policies, or reliability of any third-party content provider or playlist server
- Any interruptions, errors, outages, or failures in third-party streams or services
Accessing any content through Luma Player is done entirely at your own discretion and risk.
7. Intellectual Property
The Luma Player application — including its source code, design, user interface, graphics, brand name, and logo — is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. All rights are reserved by Luma Player and its developers.
You are expressly prohibited from:
- Copying, reproducing, or redistributing the Application or any part thereof without prior written authorization
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the Application or its source code
- Using the Luma Player name, logo, or any brand assets for commercial or promotional purposes without explicit authorization
- Creating derivative works or modified versions of the Application
8. Service Availability
Luma Player is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Application
- Compatibility with all devices, operating system versions, or network environments
- The continued availability of any specific feature, function, or integration
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Application or any of its features at any time, with or without prior notice, and without liability to you.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Luma Player and its developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:
- Your use of, or inability to use, the Application
- Any content accessed or viewed through the Application
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your local data
- Any third-party service, server, or content provider accessed via the Application
- Any other matter relating to the Application, however caused
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or limitation of liability for incidental damages, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Use at any time. When changes are made, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. We may also notify users of significant changes through the Application or website.
