Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Short version: Luma Player does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies of any kind. Only minimal essential local storage is used on the website to make the dashboard work.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites function correctly, remember your preferences, and — in many cases — track your behavior across websites for advertising or analytics purposes.

Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which are browser-based storage mechanisms that work similarly to cookies but are never automatically sent to a server with each request. They are stored entirely within your browser.

This policy explains exactly what storage technologies Luma Player uses, and — equally importantly — what it does not use.

2. Does Luma Player Use Cookies?

The Luma Player mobile and TV application does not use cookies of any kind. It has no browser-based context and does not set or read cookies on your device.

The Luma Player website (lumaplayer.app) does not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. The website uses only a small amount of essential local browser storage — described in detail below — that is strictly necessary for the dashboard to function. No cookie consent banner is required because no non-essential cookies are set.

3. Local Storage Used on the Website

The following items may be stored in your browser's local or session storage when you use the Luma Player website or dashboard. None of this data is ever transmitted to third parties.

Key Storage Type Purpose Duration
luma_lang localStorage Stores your preferred display language for the website (e.g. en, es, fr). Used to show the site in the language you selected on your next visit. Persistent (until cleared)
luma_device_id
luma_device_key
sessionStorage Temporarily holds your pseudonymous Device ID and Device Key during a dashboard session. These are used only to authenticate your session and are never shared with or transmitted to any third party. Session only — cleared automatically when you close the browser tab
luma_playlists_[deviceId] localStorage Stores your playlist data locally in the browser for the web dashboard. This allows the dashboard to display your playlists without requiring repeated network requests. This data is never shared with anyone. Persistent (until cleared or removed from the dashboard)

All of the above storage entries contain no personally identifiable information. They can be cleared at any time through your browser's developer tools or privacy settings.

4. What We Do NOT Use

To be completely transparent, here is what Luma Player does not use on its website or application:

We have deliberately built Luma Player to operate without any of these technologies. Your browsing behavior on our site is not tracked, recorded, or sold.

5. Managing Your Data

You have full control over all browser storage used by Luma Player. You can clear it at any time using the following methods:

Clearing this data will sign you out of the web dashboard and reset your language preference. No other consequences will result from clearing this storage.

6. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Application or website. Any updates will be noted by a revised "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back periodically.
